Maryland Casinos Generate $43 Million in Revenue During November


The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency today announced November 2012 revenue numbers for the state’s three casinos — Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County and Maryland Live Casino in Anne Arundel County. November 2012’s combined statewide revenue totaled $43,102,301.54.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $5,421,639.64 in November, and its gross gaming revenue per machine per day was $120.48 for the month. In a year-to-year comparison, Hollywood Casino’s November 2012 revenue decreased by $3,691,400.02 or 40.5% from November 2011.  Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 1,500 machines.

The Casino at Ocean Downs generated $3,315,479.40 in November, and its gross gaming revenue per machine per day was $138.14. The Casino at Ocean Downs’ November 2012 revenue increased by $213,147.05 or 6.9% from November 2011.  The Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 machines.

Maryland Live Casino generated $34,365,182.50 in November, and its gross gaming revenue was $241.16 per day per machine.  Maryland Live operates 4,750 machines.

In a year-to-year comparison — excluding Maryland Live, which opened in June – November 2012 casino revenue decreased from November 2011 by $3,478,252.97 or 28.5% decrease.

In this regulatory role, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (LGCA) oversees all internal controls, auditing, security, surveillance, background investigation, licensing and accounting procedures for the facilities.
