Maryland Casinos Generate More Than $48 Million in Revenue During July


The Maryland Lottery today announced revenue numbers for the state’s three casinos — Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County and Maryland Live Casino in Anne Arundel County. July 2012’s combined statewide revenue totaled $48,054,954.02. In a year-to-year comparison — excluding Maryland Live, which opened in June — July 2012 casino revenue decreased from July 2011 by $2,896,391.94 or 18.64%.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $6,891,741.48 in July, and its gross gaming revenue per machine per day was $148.21 for the month. In a year-to-year comparison, Hollywood Casino’s July 2012 revenue decreased by $3,302,788.777 from July 2011 or 32.4%.  Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 1,500 machines.

The Casino at Ocean Downs generated $5,754,415.92 in July, and its gross gaming revenue per machine per day was $232.03. The Casino at Ocean Downs’ July 2012 revenue increased by $406,396.83 or 7.6% from July 2011.  The Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 machines.

Maryland Live Casino, which opened to the public on June 6, 2012, generated $35,408,796.62 in July, and its gross gaming revenue was $351.54 per day per machine.  Maryland Live currently operates 3,702 machines (up from 3,171 on 7/27).
